Low-Calorie Protein Bagels

No ratings yet

Bagels from the yogurt dough behind the naan, with a scoop of protein powder worked in, shaped into rings and baked instead of pan-fried. Lower in calories than a bakery bagel since there's no oil in the dough.

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 190C (375F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Mix the self-rising flour and protein powder together, then work in the Greek yogurt until a soft dough forms. Knead briefly until smooth.

  3. 3

Divide into 4 pieces and roll each into a rope, then join the ends to form a bagel shape.

  4. 4

Brush each bagel with beaten egg and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.

  5. 5

Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until golden brown.

  6. 6

Cool for 5 minutes before slicing.

Try it this way

Swap the everything bagel seasoning for cinnamon sugar for a sweet version.
